Colt Defender .45 ACP Report \ Rep?

Anyone with experiance using the Colt Defender .45 ACP with 3" Barrell want to share what you think about it?

I've just about made up my mind to get a Springfield Ultra with 3.5" Barrell and saw a pic of the Colt Defender. Looks good. Just doing a little research on it.

My son has one, It does all right, a good lockup, real lite weight, function's well. The only thing I my self didn't care for was the rubber grips, with finger grooves. Now that's just my likes. my son likes. :wink:

Thanks... My local dealer said Colt's so busy with Gov Contracts that he didn't think he could get one for me. He keeps advising me toward Kimber Ultra Carry II.

Springfield also makes a 3inch or they did.. Im not to sure about kimber right now they seem to have some Issues if you read the 1911 forums ..
