Well, what was the problem with the 245? This might help us in giving you better advice.

The Glock and M&P are both decent guns, but I would give the edge to the Glock simply because it has a stronger track record, parts are easy to get as are holsters etc.

as a glock owner and lover I am kind of taken aback that you want to move on from a Sig, but I would suggest, if you must move on, to get a glock!

GLOCK 20 or 29 it up with th 10mm, it is easy to find 40 cal and 357 sig barrels for it easier than M&P

if you go with a 29 you can get a 40 and 357 barrel .. if you go with a 27 you can only go 40 or 357 10mm is to long for the frame

ok so is this a correct assumption?
    glock 29=.40, 357sig and 9mm.
    glock 27=.357sig and 9mm

    is this correct?

Well, I have a fullsize M&P, have handled the compact and have shot both large and small Glocks. Go with the M&P. Glock isn't "Perfection". Don't get me wrong, both are fine weapons, just I find the M&P more user friendly.

Some have a problem getting used to the Glock grip, some don't. The M&Ps are nice and seem to shoot well, they just haven't been around for as long so reliabilty is still a question in a lot of people's minds. The same with the Springfield Armory XDs which would also be something to look at. As for me, I'll shoot anything, but I carry Glock.

Can't speak for Glocks, but I absolutely love my M&P 9c. 700 rnds of wwb ammo,75rnds of Gold-dots, and not even so much as a hiccup.
