    What model is this?

My father-in-law has a Taurus and we can't seem to find the model number. Its a SS, 2 1/2" barrel, 6 shot, .357 mag, with bobbed hammer.

I have found the 5 shot that is very very similar but not the 6 shot.

Open the cylendar and swing it out. Looking at your revolver from the left side you should see 2 numbers, one on top of the other. Bottom # should be the model #. At least this is the case with my 617.

This could be a model 65, an old model 66 or a model 606. Taurus does not currently make a 2.5" model 65. The new model 66 is a 7 round model. The model 606 is no longer in production.
