    New CCW Walther PPS

This is the latest addition to my CCW family, a 9mm Walther PPS 1st Edition (#40 of 1000). It is striker fired, 1.04" thick at the slide release, .90" thick on the rest of the gun. It has six, seven, & eight round magazines for varying degrees of concealability.

It also has two backstraps sizes, that also render the gun inoperable if removed.

The regular production models started shipping this month, a .40 shipping early 2008.

Although it will cause some controvery, it's pictured with my X2L
    Laser/Light.

I find it extremely easy to carry, with the feel of a service model.
PPS, loosely translated is Police Pistol Slim.

I just bought a PPS First Edition 2 weeks ago (serial in the 500's). I have not taken it to the range yet. No light, however. Has an excellent feel to it, and it is very light. I think it may prove to be an excellent 9mm carry weapon.

The ergos sold me on it. It has the feel of a larger pistol. I think you will be surprised that despite it's light weight, it is easy to shoot without wearing out your hand in the process.

It's next on my list, that's for sure.

That's my carry piece too! BTW, I just got a DeSantis Speed Scabbard as an OWB holster and it exceeded my expectations. They make it in a Walther PPS version that fits perfectly.

Now I need to get that digital camera working...

    Yep!

This one has been online for a while, but I held off looking for more selection from other holster makers. I was using a Galco STOW-N-GO ST0444. It also fit great, but the soft leather collapses when the gun is withdrawn making reholstering a big PITA.

I lucked into one at a gun show in August. Paid too much probably, about $640 out the door. But no regrets here!

I got mine from a local gun shop and paid $595. I just happened to call about the time they were unpacking it from a delivery. Serendipity strikes again.

Bought mine at Cabela's in Fort Worth, TX for $599.99.

They were running a promotion, & I got a $150 gift certificate for using my Cabela's credit card.

K&D Holsters is making them for the PPS as well. www.kdholsters.com They don't show them on their website, but have announced they are making them on a few forums.

Planet holster on Ebay has a ballistic nylon IWB for it as well. Mention me (Gene) & they will give you a discount on any of their items. I'm just a customer, but have bought a number of items from them.

I found mine there too, this past Saturday. I didn't know about the gift cert thing though. :(
