Ok right off the bat please excuse the poor pictures, something is going on with my digital camera. Anyway my wife surprised me today with these 2 beauties. Now can any of you tell me what they are ? Yes I know they are " guns " now this is a vague question, but can any of you tell me are they real or not ? I know the answer and I'll tell you later, so come on give it your best shot :

On the 1911 it looks like somebody customized an old military model. Polished, dehorned, reblued and tricked out.

The revolver is a stainless S&W model 649 Bodyguard. I just picked one of these up (an early no dash) and it's really sweet. Enjoy!-Scott.

The rear sight on the 1911 looks tall. Did they not relieve the back of the slide?

WOULD THE "GOVERNMENT" Model have the beavertail, front strap textured (knurled), or front of the slide cocking grooves? without being a customized gun of course. And as was mentioned above, a target rear sight. A custom hammer but no custom trigger. hhhhmmm something is definitely up with this gun IMHO.

No not minitures, or carved from wood. They are real fireing guns but they are knockoffs of the real thing. They are hand built in a small town called Danao on the island of Cebu by Filipino artisans. They are all hand fitted and unless you are an expert on Colt 1911's or S&W 's it's hard to tell tell a first glance if they are the real deal or not. Right now the Philippines have a huge cache of WWII 1911's and I'm having a friend help track one down for me I hope he succeds. The knock-off's cost around $180 - $200 which is non to shabby for a hand fitted 1911.
    Best to all,
