    Meprolite night sights

I just got a set of these installed on my Glock 19, and I was wondering about other peoples experiences with them. They seem to glow pretty good in the dark, and would make for easier target acquisition in low light areas. I was going to go with Trijicons, but a few people on other forums have told me that Meprolites are brighter and cheaper.

Yep, they are very nice. I just put a set on my Walther P99 Compact....which just happens to be sitting right here beside me

I have meprolights on my USP, and Trijicons on my Glock. I'm a little hard pressed to find any difference. Both are great night sights.

I agree Gendaito. I have Trijicons and Meps and they are interchangeable (IMHO). To be honest, I don't view night sights as 'essential equipment' on a carry gun. If it's dark enough to need them, it's too dark for target ID. If it's dark and the target is close enough to ID, you won't be using the sights and you won't need them. If it's light enough to ID the target, you won't need the night sights anyway!

That said, on a GLOCK they are a good idea; you've solved one problem indemic with the GLOCKs--plastic front sights. These will LAST!

If a gun is going to get night sights, its going to get mepros. You made a good choice.

I thing my Sig 229's have mepro's on them. My older Sigs used Trijicons. They work great, but not really any better than the Trijicons.

I prefer Mepros over Trijicons because the Mepro's tubes are installed in white PVC. The Trijicons white rings are painted on, and they tend to wear off over time. It gets old repainting the white rings around your sights every other year (yeah, I know I sound lazy). I also like the XS 24/7 sights, and I think they are made by (or at least get their Tritium from) Trijicon.

put Mepros on my XD and I think I would only do the same for any other future weapons that needed night sights.

Personally, if it doesn't come with night sights and I was going to pu them on I would go with the XS sights. I am not a fan of 3 dot and the XS makes for a nice sight picture.

I have a set on my PT-145....they are pretty darn good, but nothing compares to the TruGlo Tritium Fiber Optics I have on my XD45. I'm thinking of having a set of the TFO's, that are made for the baby Glock, installed on my other PT-145.
