Taurus 85 or S&W 638, 642??

I was all set to purchase a S&W 638 tonight until I held the Taurus 85. Traditionally I am an S&W guy but the thin grips of the 638 or 642 just didn't feel as good as the Taurus. My question is for those that have the S&W, do the Hogue or other grips give a better feel to the gun? What about the CT Lasergrips feel? The Taurus is $85 less also which makes it attractive.

Can't speak for the Smiths tho my son has one - it's an OK gun - his 638.

My old beat-up M85 was my very first carry for a year or so - love that lil snub - dead on reliable and with the Hogues feels just great.

All I can say Still enjoy shooting it. Notice all the holster wear - what a lil gem!

I've had my ultra-lite multi-alloy 85 easily over 5 years and its been with me all over the west coast due to its lite weight. I still have the stock grips on her. I wouldn't mind having the hogues like Chris, but I'm afraid of giving up any more of my concealability, 'cause the hogues are a tad bit longer than stock.

I know that the Crimson Trace 405 Grips for the S&W J-frame are among the most thin I have ever felt. Even though I have large hands it does not bother me because they seem to make up for the thinness from side to side by adding thickness front to rear. Does that make sense? I don't know about the 105s or the 305s.
