    XS sights

    First post here...
I am considering a new set of sights for my Kimber Pro Carry and was looking at the XS sight systems. My dad has the Big Dot set and likes it a lot. I was thinking of the standard size dot.

What are your opinions on them?

I like and use them as well. Being a carry gun, I would suggest you look again at the big dot as that set up was designed for very quick acquisition of your intended target, many well known trainers recommend them. With practice you should become very aquainted with them and you hopefully agree that the big dot is the way to go.

I just recently put a set of standard size XS sights on my Kimber Ultra Carry. I like them a lot. All my other carry guns either have Mepros or Trijicons. I was able to adjust to the newer sights just fine after some practice.

Go with the Big Dot. They are great sights that are quick to pick up and plenty accurate to any distance you are wanting to shoot.

I've got a set of the Big Dot with non-night rear sight and really like them.

My Sig 228 is my EDC and it is equipped with a set of big dots. I love them- shoot better with them (even at distance) and just really don't feel comfortable carrying a gun that doesn't have them anymore.

I have Big Dots on my G27. They are a great addition to any gun. No problems at all in my qualifications out to 25 yards. They are very quick to acquire and excel in close quarter shooting...just get 'em.

I've got the standard on my xd40sc. I love em. They are quick to line up in low light or dark. I was afraid to get the bigdots because I heard there may be a problem with some holsters, but have heard many say there isn't. No matter which set you get, they take a little getting use to. Once you do , you'll love em.

I have the big dot and there is no trouble with any of the three different holsters I use on my EDC.

Anytime I have ordered a custom holster I make sure I tell them I have Big Dots to ensure the sight track is adequate.

I have tried both the Big and standard dots on a full sized Glock, and I found the standard dots to be much more accurate and still very quick under stress. I wish they were available for more models.

These are combat sights although there is a video of aa master shot using them at 100 yards with good accuracy. For us mere mortals they are great for rapid sight aquistion. I have mine on my xd sc 9 and they are great.

While they look like they would be fast , I simply dont feel that the setup would be precise enough FOR ME . I will say that lots of folks who have them like them . Most likely its all about what you are used to more than superiority of any one design .
