If you carry upwards of 12 or so rounds either in one magazine or in a combination of magazines or BUGs speak up. What is your set up to get to high end capacity and do you feel just a little naked with less fire power.
Glock 23 for total of 14 rounds. Although at home around the house i don't chamber a round and if I do go anywhere outside the Co. I'll bring an extra mag.
More rounds the better, but the glock is just so much easier to carry than a snubby Taurus 44 magnum.

usually I carry single stacks w/2 extra mags, but from time to time I carry:

    • A Custom STI in 9x23 Winchester, 20 rounds (19 in the mag) with one spare mag. with .357 mag ballistics, you could hurt somebody. Carry either Cor-Bons or Silvertips.
    • A Springfield XD tactical, 14 round capacity + 1 spare mag. Cor-Bon Pow-r-Balls.

Glock 23. Two 13 round magazines plus one in the chamber equals 27 rounds total, that is if I do not carry three magazines which I do at times.

If I can carry a gun with that many .40 cal rounds that has a grip the same size as my Sig P239 9mm that only carries 8 rounds in the mags, then why the heck wouldn't I?

To pwrincross I ask this: what will you do if the one and only magazine you are carrying, the one in your gun, malfunctions or is otherwise disabled just when you need it? Why would you not carry at least one reload just for that reason alone?

    High capacity=more than 10?

G23 minimum 13+15 spare mag=28+5 in second gun =33; often two spare mags so 48. Add the spares speedloader and magazine in the truck for replenishing, plus 100 rounds of spare boxed; 120 rounds in reserve. Don't often think of it, but if that isn't enough I'll probably be taking a dirt nap after the first few anyway.

I waffle - sometimes its my CZ75C w/2 spare mags (total 40rds) OR my Dan Wesson 1911 Bobtall Commander w/2 spares (25 rds). Lately I have been going with the 1911 - its a bit thinner than the CZ and seems to be easier to carry IWB (I have a Tucker Texas Heritage for both)

I've been carrying as many as I can conceal comfortably nowadays.

Maximum for Glock 29 with 10 +1, two 15 rnd in Blade Tech on belt = 41
Minimum for Glock 29 with 10+1, one 10rnd mag in pocket = 21

    Maximum for EAA Witness (10mm) 15+1 , two 15 rnd on belt = 46
    Minimum for EAA Witness (10mm) 15+1 = 16

Not likely to need that many, however, I doubt I can run home for more if it is necessary.

    XD .45 13+1
    +2 13 round mags = 40 rounds of .45 ACP

More often than not, add to that:
    CW9 7+1
    +2 7 round mags = 22 rounds of 9mm

Do I feel naked without it?

No, but I feel about 5 pounds lighter. :)

    EDC: P225 9mm 8+1 and 8 more
Occasional carry: P226 9mm 17+1 and 17 more... and sometimes another 17 just because.

My FIRST carry gun was a Ruger Speed Six in .357, and a speed-strip with 6 more.
For a private citizen that's probably more than enough... but if your gun allows 17+1, and you need to carry a spare mag in case of malfunction anyway, why not carry 35... or 52 if you have a double mag holder?

Realistically if you need that many rounds you really should be calling for close air support but you never know.

If you can't fell your opponent with 35 rounds, what more can you expect? I retired from LEO, and was totally embarrassed every time a newspaper came out with what would have been a righteous shooting, but reported 30 rounds expended by the PD's Glocks, with no hits. Capacity doesn't make a gunfighter!
