The perfect answer to fit you're requirements is the new Kahr CW45 (CW4543) - Capacity:6+1, O/A Len 6.07", Height 4.8", Weight w/mag 18.5 oz. Mirror copy of the Kahr P45 except without the polygonal barrel, and comes with one magazine, and for $425.99 is $218 less than the P45.

I've never owned (or shot one) but many of my shooting buddies and many on this website brag about any XD model. In fact, I have not read a bad post (in the last year) on any XD. Soooo, there's my input.

My carry is a Walther PPS. It's a single stack 9mm making it quite thin and easy to carry. More accurate than I am, but I'm working on it!

Thanks to all! I think I will carry what I have (with some new leather.....Santa - are you hearing this????) until spring. From what I've handled, I like the Taurus compact 40 or 45. I have a bunch of .40 (even more .45) so I am leaning towards a .40. This will give me time to sell my Witness and try on other suitable candidates. :)

My vote goes to a Bobtailed Lightweight 1911 Commander. It is comfortable, a great shooter and remarkably easy to conceal, even better than a 3" 1911.

FWIW I have little trouble concealing a Commander IWB under a button up shirt or even a t-shirt in the summer, but I have a good build for it. All the same, a good holster and belt go a looong way towards concealment and comfort, as much so as weapon selection IMO. You may be able to get by with what you've got after investing in a quality holster. If not, the GLOCK 19 or S&W M&P series of pistols are nice, lightweight, and not too expensive.
