    Used Sig P229 Price?

Found a used Sig today. In good shape (not great).
They are asking $500 for it. That seems a little high to me (but I know next to nothing, so...).

Any of you Sig guys/gals want to weigh in on a decent price?

Depending on the shape, I'd say thats a fair price. Not great, but fair.

I've seen them in Shotgun news. Most likely police trade ins. They usually go for around $400. If you're serious about looking around for the best deal, and the money aint burning a hole in your pocket----try gunsamerica.com, check a site called Masscops.com, gunbroker.com, and things like that. You may be able to get into a factory refurbished at less than five bills, and in excellent shape with case and extra magazine.

My P229 .40 S&W was $499. It was very clean, looked like new. The nitron finish is very resilient and doesn't show wear fast, but I don't think this weapon was carried until I bought it. I'm not even sure it was fired. It has night sights, no rail, and came with only 1 mag.

For $500 the shop should include 2 mags. and a guarantee
to make it right if the gun has any defects.

And it shouldn't be too cosmetically challenged.

Sounds pretty high to me, you can get a CPO 229 in the $4-450 range with two mags and all the factory goodies. Sounds like a like-new price on a well used gun to me. Check out gunbroker, you can do alot better than that on a 229.

Check out the new price for the model your looking at. I can't say if if it's a good price for the used one your looking without looking at it myself. If it was a private owner, my answer is, quess only: yes it is.
