Nice gun. I was looking at one the other day and it felt great in my hand. I've heard a lot of good things about them.
Nice looking dogs too!

You'll enjoy that one. I have the M&P 40c. I think they are great little guns.

The 9c is a fine pistol. Some folks have had issues with the magazine release wearing, so you might make sure you check the little metal tab when you clean.
Apart from that (which S&W was very helpful with), mine has been rock-solid reliable and gets carried frequently.

I'm thinking about buying an M&P 40c. My dept is switching to the M&P 40 and I'll use the compact as a BUG and off-duty gun.
Yeah I like Glocks, wanna fight about it!

Is the M&P Compact lighter than a Glock 26/27? Any thinner?

My 9c(below, right) was my first handgun, and first carry piece. Always 100% reliable with thousands of rounds through it. Out of all the handguns I've ever owned it was one of my favorites. Only got rid of it because once I got the M&P45 the 9c never got used. The 45 is now my daily carry weapon.

Went to the range again today with my Brother, we had a shoot off. He with his M&P 40 and me with my 40c the compact shoots great. I was accused of practicing without him. I love my 40c, I also received my additional mags this week. Waiting for the rebate!

**CORRECTION**
The rebate is for BOTH $50 AND 2 mags. WHOOOOEEEE! That makes it even sweeter!!! AND it runs through Jan 31st, not December like I originally posted. Now I don't feel so bad about missing the free mags this summer.
Josh, I'm kinda envious. I debated getting the 45, but since most of my carry will probably be deep concealment, I opted for the compact. I really debated getting the 40, but the 9 will be cheaper and easier to shoot out of a compact platform.
Clarkston, I think they're pretty comparable in size. But the first time I picked up this pistol, it felt like it was made for my hand. Changing to the large backstrap just made it better. I also like the mag disconnect (although now that I see how it works, I'm not as sure) and not having to pull the trigger to disassemble it.
I'm just hoping the range is open tomorrow with the snow coming in. . .
