not a bad way to present it ... sure as hell beats having her look under a napkin or something cliche like that ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, the last two SA champions I bought had wood grips - I bad idea to affix diamonds to, unless you buy some alluma grips.

Do some customizing to an LS 3913, my wife loves hers - I bought it for her on our 5th anniversary.

My wife's favorite Valentine's Day gift was a Craftsman Rally box, loaded with bright shiny chrome vanadium tools. I didn't go so far as to engrave her name on it though.

You better hope she will NOT be angry at not getting a ring...because you're HANDING her a gun...

When are you going to 'pop the question...er, the pistol'?

I'll be watching the J-ville news.

OK, we need some more info.

Seeing as how you're asking this, I'm guessing that she's into shooting, if you're trying to get her into the hobby, this is sooooo the wrong time to do it.

What is the finish currently on the Springer?

You said: "my NIB Springfield loaded", if you do all that stuff to it, it's not yours anymore, then again, if you get married and she's into guns, it won't matter any way because what's yours it hers, and what's hers is hers.

I guess the main question is WILL SHE SAY YES?, secondly where do you plan on proposing, you can't just whip out the Springer in a restaurant and pop the question, well maybe in Texas you could but I wouldn't try it (laugh, that was supposed to be funny)

My final answer would be NO, what you're talking about is an engagement gift, not an engagement ring. If she's into guns, and you're cool with giving up your Springer, go ahead with the engraving of her name and save it for the engagement present and save the diamonds for the ring.

However, if it is stainless or blackened stainless, you might be able to pull it off.

Oh this isn't something that's imminent, we're both still in college. This is just something that popped into my head when I was talking to a friend of mine who's really into jewelery and we were talking about unique ways to propose.

She's not overly into guns, but she does like unique gifts. She doesn't even know I carry and as far as I know, she's never shot a gun before. I was planning on doing it at a range (sounds redneck, I know) but she's really a sucker for originality.

An actual ring on the hammer sounds like the best plan!

My girlfriend is into hunting , shooting and all kinds of the same fun stuff, but I think I would be in big trouble if I tried something like that.
