Is it new or used? If used, it may have the wrong weight spring in it. If new, it may need a little breakin........

    Sounds like recoil spring.

    I use a 18.5lb recoil spring in my Kimber 10mm. (I think it came with a 16#....)

Sorry guys I have been up in Idaho for the past few weeks. I have only ran about 100 rds through this Kimber and besides the few times it has done this it is a great gun and I am sure that all of your advice has hit the spot. I believe it is a bit tight, as what I have been reading these are built with tight specs. So I will get over 500rds through it before I carry it. Oh yeah here are some pics of it.
