New carry and something else for Christmas gift.

Wifey decided to give me a couple new surprises. First is a Kimber Tactical Ultra II. Its used, but its in pretty decent shape. Looks like the previous owners changed the grip screws though? Otherwise its unmodified. This is my first 1911. I've never even fired one. I do know form taking it down and inspecting it, its a sweet piece of machinery, from what ive seen. Does anyone have any advice or info on these they can pass on to me? Ive heard that folks like to use different mags in them, and don't care for the one that comes with it.

Second is something ive wanted for a while. Certainly not a carry though, heh. Brand spankin new Mossberg 590 SP.

I'd say that your wife is a keeper. Great gifts and that Kimber looks super nice.

VERY awesome gifts from your wife!

Congrats on the Kimber. It does look like a beaut! You will find more information on here than you'll know what to do with for the thing. I have an Ultra CDP myself and I love it. It's been such a great little gun.

And the shotgun is beautiful too.

Merry Christmas to you! I hope you enjoy your holidays shooting them!!

There are various threads on here that will give you more info then you really want on the Kimber, you have a really great piece there. Nice shotgun too.
I am beginning to wonder where everyone has found such great Wives. Neither of my wives would even have thought about buying me a gun. At least my second wife bought me Knives.

Feeling neglected by my wife....all I got was my annual range pass!! Maybe I shouldn't have bought 2 guns this month. Along with 3 sets of grips and a holster.

Thanks everyone! I hope to be hitting the range about 2 tomorrow afternoon with both my new toys and my Glock 19. I'm all giddy with excitement.

Now, next year im going to have to do her one better then she did for me this year. At least I have a year to think up something!
