The only gun I like the hogue rubber grips on is the 220. I have a set on my plain jane 220.

I may be in the minority here, but I prefer the standard black plastic grips on Sigs...just like on my P7...for me, these guns look too futuristic for wood...now a 1911, a Hi-Power or a nice revolver...that's something else....:)

    Talking

You don't wanna KNOW how expensive Elephant Ivory grips would be for the 220. Especially if each grip panel was a solid slab (due to the fact that the grips form the backstrap)
You're looking at about $800 + for the tusk ivory even before you make the first cut.
By the time you get done with that (fairly complex) fabrication you are well over the cost of the SIG for a set of ivories.
Don't think I've not thought about making a set.
One Boo-Boo and it will really cost you.
That's one set of grips you'll not want to get the grip screw holes drilled or located in the wrong spot.

I think you gave up the "stealth" look when you bought the Platinum model. It is a very nice looking gun though. I would maybe go with a contrast look. Try a dark black or grey colored wood grip or maybe even ebony. That would look really sharp against that light colored metal and trim. Just my .02.

But, what was SIG thinkin' on those pug UGG grips?

I could see Hogue Checkered KINGWOOD on that fine pistola.

    You need checkered exotic wood.

Oh, yeah, that would work for me!

I am going to go away from the common of the thread and state that i would also change grips from the pic , however i would go the standard black sig grips . I dont like woods on 220s nor do i on p7s. Some firearms are as close to " good " as it gets as issued . As a side note on say the 1911 or the revolver , grips can in fact get smaller . On a pistol that normally comes with tupperware you can get wood , but it will increase grip size which is not allways a good idea .
Make sure you get full value out of today , Do something worthwhile, because what you do today will cost you one day off the rest of your life .
