I believe I'll buy the first lever action carbine I find in this caliber. Nice gun.

In case you guys are wondering, the .327 SP101 has the same cylinder dimensions as the bigger .357, but due to the bullet diameter, they can cram 6 rounds in the cylinder as oppose to the .357's five rounds.

I only know of a few guys that have them. There's me and three guys on the Ruger forum and another guy on Glocktalk has one.

I have 100pcs of virgin Starline 32 H&R brass on the bench as well as some 32 H&R fired brass and 32 S&W Long brass coming my way too. You can shoot four cartridges in this gun: 32 S&W, 32 S&W Long, 32 H&R Magnum, and 327 Federal Magnum.

Looked at the ballistics for the 32 S&W. Hodgdon manual says 1.4gr of W231 good for 595fps from a 3" barrel. I think I'll pass. The Long takes an 85gr jacketed to 865fps from a 5.32". Not much improvement. 32 H&R can push the same to 1263fps from a 5". The 327 Fed Mag does in a 3" what the 32 H&R does in a 6".

I have a few hundred cast bullets from a buddy on GT. Have a mold, but need some sizer dies. I got some nice hot, hot, hot loads from my buddy who runs his 32 H&R SP101 4" to 1400fps with a 100gr lead. He is also sending me some 71gr jacketed bullets too. I swapped him some 50AE bullets for the mold and bullets.

Was going to get a fancy holster for the GP100 but I'm proud to announce that the SP101 will be worn in a Milt Sparks PMK instead.

Got to a range report yet? I'm really interested in how felt recoil went as well as accuracy. It seems like an interesting concept, esp. if they can put it in a sub J frame revolver.

No range report yet. There isn't any component brass available yet. The only brass I have is the single proof test case. I don't know if the J-frame cylinder is long enough to accomodate the cartridge. The 327 Fed Mag uses the same cylinder as the 357 Mag, they just drill six holes instead of 5. If the j-frame cylinder measures 1.590" like the Fed Mag cylinder, it could probably be done, however I doubt you would be able to fire the same strength loads in the j-frame as the Ruger.

Three loads from Federal are all about $20/20rds. Nothing shipped yet. Midway still has them listed but they are "coming soon" status.

I have some H&R brass and some lead bullets to try out. Need to get dies and a conversion kit for my Dillon 550. I can shoot H&R until brass gets drawn for the Fed Mag. I refuse to buy factory ammo.

Look at it this way... you're buying fresh brass that comes with free bullets, primer, and powder!

Damn...looks like Taurus did it! I am not sure of the veracity of the below but I copied this photo from a fellow THR thread stating that it was the .327 magnum chambered in the Tarurus 85 displayed at the 2008 Shot Show.

Now that is awesome. Bob the hammer...do a little trigger work...afix a wood and Tyler grip and I would have a replacement for my 642...once the ammo becomes prevalent.

    Wow...I'm excited now!

Nifty neato! Let us know how both gun and cartridge work out.

Soon as I can complete my move and set up my bench I want to try some of your cast .32 bullets.

I got two boxes of the 100gr SP load in hand. Have to wait til my gun gets back from Ruger. Had to send it in for repair (non-caliber related issue).

32 H&R flanking the centered .327 Fed Mag. The H&R loads are a 100gr SWC and 71gr Sierra FMJ. 32 H&H is 1.35" OAL and the 327 Fed is 1.473".
