By far, my favorite front sight is Ted Yost's gold-inlaid post. The serrated gold picks up light like crazy. The original black on either side gives great contrast on a light colored target.

For an all-purpose gun , I like 3 dot Night Sights.
For a small carry gun - anything that has a highly visible front will do.

Thus far I like the Heinie Straight Eight sights with the XS Big Dot Night Sights as a close second.

Carry gun: I seem to like the 3-dot night sights but don't have them yet.
Target rig: big ol' iron target sights. Grew up with em, learned to shoot silhouette with em...
Rifle: Scope :) or good iron sights.
Shotgun: Ghost ring, please

TruGlo (fiber optic with a tritium vial illuminating them at night) three dot sights.

Ditto. Other than that---a good, large objective red dot sight.For an all-purpose gun , I like 3 dot Night Sights.

Not trying to hijack a thread. But I have a question, If you have standard 3 dot sight. Can you enhance them? Paint? something else?

You can use Testors model enamel if you wish to change the colors. A round toothpick works good for application of the paint on the dot.

I prefer the standard three dot mepro's, but can see the value in big dots and some other systems out there.
