Back from Chuck Rogers, more awesome!
Second time this Colt Repro-70 has been to Chuck, no problems, just additions. What a guy. If you've never felt his golfball frame treatment, you don't know what a firm grip is! This time he did a bobtail for me, golfballed the new MSH, crowned the barrel, dimpled the off-side slide stop, and did a GS and trigger tuneup. The internals and original parts swap were done by Slydlok, and the sights are Ted Yost's wonderful classic rear and very visible gold-inlaid front blade. Grips are VZ's black blasted canvas, look better every day. I love the "well worn" look of them as they age.

I've stated this many times. Every top smith has his own style and expertise. I've been to Ted Yost's shop, and am amazed at his work, now he's only doing full custom builds. But his guns are SO pretty I could never carry one. Chuck's work is full-blown functional carry guns. But yet elegant in a Charles Bronson sort of way!

Chuck's a private guy, until you get to know him. He works out of his home shop and isn't set up for walk-in customers. Bet he'd love to meet you and chat about your dream gun somewhere though!

That "golfball" style checkering on the front and back straps makes a whole lot of sense. The one feature on my CZ P01's that I dislike is the vertical grooves in lieu of traditional checkering, but I could get to like the idea of this style. Nice gun!
