Don't let Limatunes hear that "mans" gun comment. You might get a response like this guy did. Messing With Customers Is Fun--Never Underestimate the Little Girl Behind the Counter

Ruger makes some really good 45s, the P90, and the P345. I shoot both and
they kick less than the SR9 Ruger. I also shoot a bersa minyfirestorm 45, it is a lot of fun to shoot.

Shouldn't be a problem at all. As you read throughout this thread it's not a snappy round. Can't go wrong with the Springfield Mil-Spec. Gun is outstanding for the money and if you're like me it'll be a "keeper". For a couple hundred bucks you can add a few performance parts that will make it a better performer. (Drop in Wilson beavertail, Wilson tactical safety, and polish up the ramp and barrel). Recommend Wilson 8 round mags to finish it off.
    Good luck hunting.

Yep. The XD 45 Compact is exactly what replaced my Defender for daily carry. I'm at about 800 rounds with the XD and not a single burp so far.

EDIT: I forgot to mention; the XD 45 is a real MAN'S GUN!!!!

    a steel .45 1911 is very comparable to my aluminum 3" 9mm 1911 with +p
a polymer .45 will be enough more that you would defiantly notice, but a steel framed .45 is very easy to handle
although, once you get used to it, a little polymer .45 isnt that bad either.
heck im a 115lb girl and i have no problem, you shouldnt either with some practice.
