    New 1911 is 2 of 2

On Christmas day my wife gave me 1 of 2 as reported in New 1911 is 1 of 2 / Range Report Added. Yesterday was my birthday and she gave me the twin 2 of 2.

They are fraternal twins not identical twins. Though bought originally at the same time 2 of 2 is older. If you look at the photos in the 1 of 2 thread you see the right side of the frame says "SAFARI SUPPLY INC. ONT CA" while the right side above is clear. The left side of 1 of 2 says "MADE IN CHINA BY NORINCO" and the one I got yesterday says "MADE IN CHINA BY NORINCO. C.S.I. ONT. CA." The CSI carries a serial number of 52XXXX and the Safari 60XXXX. If the info I have gathered is correct Safari was the successor to CSI in importing the Norincos. I still don't know when either was made nor do I know when they were purchased. The friend my wife bought them from thinks it was in the late 80s or early 90s. I do know a bit closer to when they were purchased though. The CSI box has a note that says desiccant packs were added in April 1997. So some time before that they were bought.

Later this week I should be able to post photos with CopperKnight's latest grip creations. He sent a PM saying they would be shipped today. The new set are Bubinga wood. I'm looking forward to seeing them. The photos of the wood itself were fantastic.

I hope to put about 100 rounds through the CSI this afternoon and will post a range report if I get that done.
