I believe that drcmg carries a 10mm S&W and loves it.

I'm a .357mag fan but you might want to PM Dr. George and ask him if his bout of the flu keeps him from seeing this thread.

I have Glock in 10mm (G20). It is way to big to carry concealed, so it has been relegated to hunting use. Good firearm, very accurate. As Bud said the grip is humongous.

I also have a Kimber Eclipse in 10mm. Much more comfortable to shoot, just as accurate & a lot easier to conceal.

The 10mm is a bit snappy for most shooters. Unless you have shot that round before, it may not be suitable for concealed carry.

As of now I want it to add to my collection. What do you think of it's stopping power?

I've taken both Whitetail Deer and Ferall Hogs with my G20. I have a 2nd gen., without the finger groves and rail. I have big hands so for me the grip size is not a factor. I even carry it as my ccw in the winter, in a Simply Rugged Open Top Holster. I hope you give the 10mm a try. The 1911 in 10mm is also an awesome weapon. Some will say the 10mm is dead and does not know it yet. I say not yet, but then, I also own 22 Hornet.

yes the G20 is WIDE and BIG and i have big hands if it fits your hand they work but for me the 1911 style works better

Stopping power for the 10mm is fine even better if you handload it like the norma loading

Great stopping power, that's why I use it while hunting. It's as good as .357magnum.

sounds great, if it can takedown a whitetail I'm pretty sure it can stop a BG

Natureboypkr i own the G29 which is the sub-compact of the 10mm family and love it. I carry it either in a holster shirt or owb and under a cover shirt.

I've owned the Glock 29 and 20 and both are accurate and fun to shoot with what I consider moderate recoil (Glocks transfer recoil well due to the low center of gravity of the slide). They are wider than I prefer for concealled carry and I can shoot my .40 cal glocks substantially faster for quick follow up shots so I carry .40s.
The 20 is still a fast shooter due to its size and is an awesome full size pistol, great for rural environments due to its range, power and capacity. When I go out in the boonies now I carry my Colt Delta Gold Cup. It is a tack driver and conceals well. The Delta has an awesome trigger that shoots very fast accurate follow up shots.
