Seems like a pricey option as far as ammo is concerned, regardless of using .44Spcl or .44Mag.

    Why not?

    Go for it.

It's a tough to tactical reload, but hey, if that's your game...

I personally think your direction in horsepower is much wiser than the other direction to the minimal 9mm or .380 which is so popular cause they're so...
    eeeezzzyyy to carry.

I reload and have about 3000 .44 bullets and cases and nothing else to use them in except single actions which would be REAL handy for IDPA

Revo is great fun to shoot in IDPA but have to say even with a good DA revo speedloads test one's skills rather well!

I'd use the .44 spl as a cal but - SA revo? Not so sure it might not be a mega challenge with reloads

Now, not sure if the cal is allowable for CAS but if it was then there's your potential for SA revo fun!

As I understand it, one has to shoot .44spl in a .44M revolver and .38 in a .357; no magnum loads

Give it a try anyway. Speed loading a revo is a real treat .

If I tried this, I'd loose some digits on reload. (Jerry Michelick (?) shooting video.)

Just saw on another board that the Tracker can't be used in IDPA because it is ported. Wonder what difference that makes if it comes from the factory that way and if I carry it that way. Oh well.......

Awww shoot...too bad. That is supposed to be the point of IDPA - shoot what you carry. Oh well. I had visions of the ol city cowboy cop...McCloud, with Dennis Weaver?

I would check with the IDPA and not just believe what you read on a message board.
According to the rule book available HERE, I see no mention of ported weapons one way or the other.

I think it was on page 18 of the rule book. Guess I will look for a Redhawk at the gun show next month. I don't want to store or dump a LOT of .44 brass and bullets
