She finally gave me the go ahead

So, after a few weeks of telling the wife how pretty she is, after doing the dishes every night, cooking dinner, and giving the wife a sob story about how my guns are beat up and looking rough, about telling her how my birthday is coming up, she finally gave in. She gave me the go ahead to order my new gun friday.
She is letting me order a Wilson Combat KZ-45.
I have been wanting a new 1911. I only have a used sa micro thats nice, but needs new sight, needs new grips, needs a new thumb safety, and just a general tune-up.
I went to an idpa match and met a few "gun snobs" and while I don't consider myself a gun snob, I had to admit their Wilsons and Nighthawks, and Ed Browns were very sexy guns.
I can't afford a full custom 1911 from one of the "higher end" manufacturers due to being a state civil servant, married to an active duty soldier, and having 2 kids under the age of 7.
Anyway, I saw a Wilson KZ at the idpa match. Fired a magazine through it. Beautiful gun. Cost a bit, but it's a Wilson. I am getting the exact one pictured below, but I am not sure if I want the ambi-safety and the light rail put on. Comes with 2 9-round mags and I plan on getting a holster from Wilson as well. This will be my idpa piece and hopefully replace my beat-up Kahr MK40 as my edc.

Anyone have a KZ? Anyone shoot one?
This is a stock pic from Wilson, but its the exact gun I am ordering.

Got a Wilson, but not a KZ. If she's willing, do it NOW before she changes her mind. The polymer models are a bit bulky, but if you've fired one and like it, drive on!

Congrats on getting permission! Looks like a very nice piece. You do know that you'll be doing all the dishes and cooking for the rest of your natural life, right??? We all feel your pain.

I guess that I must be different than a lot of people, I never had to ask permission. I guess that many relationships are different. And there is nothing wrong with that I might add. Whatever works !!!!

Thanks all. I was torn between this and a Kimber. I was really itching for a "higher end" 1911 for my daily carry and for trying out a little idpa shooting. The KZ is the cheapest of the high end 1911s. I was going to get a kimber and pimp it out with new grips, sights, etc... but figured I would get the KZ and do nothing to it. For smaller purchases, no I don't need permission, but for a large purchase like this, I need to ask the wife, just like I would expect her to talk to me before buying something expensive. Neither of us have a job thats gonna make us rich. She is active duty army, and I work for the state, so we are not rich. Anyway, unfortunately I need to wait till friday to order it.

I would take the Wilson over the Kimber anyday and I am not a 45 fan. Congrats, you better take her out for dinner and dancing this weekend.

Talking about a high dollar purchase and asking permission are two different things. My wife and I always discuss these purchases, but neither one has to ask "Permission". If the purchase works in our budget, then it is OK. This works for us, we've been married for 47 years!!!
