    I like.

I just hope that in the second pic that the pistol was unloaded cause that hammer isn't supposed to be cockable (is that even a word).

cool.. You have the same taste in toys as I. That ruger shoud give you many decades of use. My .22lr Ruger ( "standard" mod) is around 30 years old, and still shoots great. I put a Tasco red dot scope on mine.

The second pistol I ever shot was a .22lr Ruger 22/45 Mrk. II. I think it's absolutely one of the finest pistols to learn on, because there is nol recoil to account for, so they're very easy to shoot. In addition, they allow you to work on technique and be brutally honest with yourself.

I thought about buying a Kimber .45 and the .22LR conversion for my first pistol, but I've wanted a USP for so long...and I want to be able to take friends to the range, and get more people interested. In fact, friends who've never been shooting before get the first 100 .22LR shots on me :) Figured 2 pistols would work better then 1...

The new Mrk III has a couple of neat features, and a couple that I don't like. There is a platform that mounts to the top of the reciever to allow for easy mounting of scopes (that should be nice...I just have to get the money..and figure out if I want to put it on). Unfortunately, it also comes with a magazine disconnect, so the pistol won't fire with the mag dropped...or isn't seated properly. :(

Finally, for some reason, if the slide is locked back, the slide release is almost impossible to activate without dropping the mag out of the pistol. I hope this eases up with some use, as my friends has is easier to use ( I can do it with one hand, vs using both like mine requires..)...if anyone has any thoughts on this, let me know.

Good job Jim - nice shootin' irons and nice blades to go with em. Nicely set up pics.

All you have to do now is go shoot the snot outa those. And with the Ruger of course - ''A brick of 22 is about the cheapest way to enjoy a day's shooting and grinning""
