Congrats, I hope you walk off the range with a big smile.

I picked up a couple of guns last Monday. I did not post here until after the range visit Wednesday. I guess I'm a little superstitious or just had my share of problem guns.

Don't wait too long for the Dillon 550... it will come in handy when start putting a hundred or so through it every time to the range... it will pay for itself quickly.

    Yup,

Currently the wife and I are each shooting about 100 rds/week of WWB (she carries a SP101 snubbie) which totals $49/week at current Walmart prices.

We are definitely saving all of the brass in anticipation of getting the Dillon, along with any other decent brass we find at the range in the ammo bucket.

    Well,

We just got back from the range where things went horribly wrong. I made the mistake of having the wife try shooting the sub-compact. At 7 yds, her first shot was through the center of the bullseye, and all of the rest were within the 2" circle, most within the 1" circle.

Needless to say, the XD40SC that I just picked up yesterday will now be her EDC weapon. It was amazing how much better she shot the SC as compared to her SP101.

Oh well, all in all it was a great day. With the SP101 I was happy that she had something she would carry, and shot decently. Now she will be carrying a larger caliber weapon that holds 9+1 in the sub-mag, and 12+1 in the standard mag.

Will just have to pick another one up for me in the fall.

Well a happy woman is a good thing. With the good shooting she had.
Maybe you won't have to wait that long.

    Well,

As an update, the XD40SC is mine again. Due to an old injury to the wife's left hand, she is not physically strong enough to rack the slide in case of a malfunction.

I was teaching her the "Tap-Rack-Bang" drill (with an empty weapon and empty magazine - verified by both of us), and she just wasn't able to rack the slide.

So, obviously she won't be carrying a semi-auto. We are signing her up for a couple of classes:

    SnubTraining.com

    SnubTraining.com

Those two classes at S&W Academy in Springfield, MA ought to give her a good start in self-defense skills and tactics.
