I started shooting centerfire with a model 60, and bought a 638 as my first CCW. Then like a retard sold the 638 and ended up buying a 642 a year ago and now I never leave home without it.

If you are conflicted go with the bodyguard since you can have the best of both worlds. If not go with the Centenial, it'll cover you very very well in all but the most precise situations at more than 50 yds. I am able to get head hits reliably with my 642 at the farthest targets on my local indoor range, 25yds I think. It's all about controling the trigger.

    I like the 638 myself
Sometimes I wonder who the old man in the mirror is....

Lord, Grant me a good sword and no need to use it.

    Correction to ease my pride...
In my post indicating my preference for the Bodyguard or Centennials I said I much preferred the shrouded "barrel"...obviously I meant a shrouded hammer

    Thumbs up

I bought an airweight Bodyguard in 1970 and probably have carried it more than all my other pistols combined. That single action option came in handy a number of times. Wasn't any decent factory loads back then so carried "hotter than I should have" handloads. It's still tight and has perfect timing after 38 years. One of my favorite pistols and highly recommend it for a snubnose option.

Hard to beat a 642, loaded with Speer 135 Gold Dots in a Mika pocket holster.

I like and have both. Get the pocket rocket 638 or 642.
