Looking for small, light carry , that still packs a punch

I need some suggestions, I currently carry a Sig P245, but I'm looking for something a little lighter to carry come spring/summer. I love the Sig , but I'd like something that's smaller and lighter for shorts weather, when I'm less likely to wear a belt, I'd like to stick to the .45 caliber if possible. Any suggestions?

How small? Theres always the Roughbaugh (sp) R9,...if you really want something smaller,...I dont know how large the p245 is ,so its hard to say something.

Kahr PM45? Springfield EMP in .40S&W(when it comes out)? Para Warthog? Sig 229?

If you want .45acp - I feel hard pressed to come up with something smaller and lighter than your SIG ....... even the sub compact .45's seem still quite large to conceal if size is bothering you plus not featherweights.

I may be over looking a choice but right now I feel you are wanting Nirvana Maybe M&P .45 sub compact could be worth a look? But I don't have one.... I guess too re weight, a Glock too - but with good capacity there is stiill weight.

I carry large and heavy so - just muttering really!

My CW45 is 150 rounds into its break-in period, with absolutely NO problems whatsoever! This includes Blazer Brass 230 grain ball and Federal Hi-Shok 230 grain JHP ammo, which is our PD issue ammo for those who carry a .45 acp. I LOVE this pistol!

Capacity is 6+1. 18.5 ounces unloaded. I know of no lighter, slimmer, easier to carry .45 out there.

My wife just got a G30 which is a .45 ACP. I am now jelouse of her! Hers can fit right into my back pocket and be fully concealed. Mine is hard to do that with. I am going to get me a G30 this month too.

if you want light and small then look at the p3at. it will be hard to find light and small in 45acp.

+1 on the Kahr pm45, about the same size as pm9, but thicker. Seemed to be less snappy than the pm40.

In .45ACP, the PM45 is you're only real "small" option.

Check out the Taurus line. May have something that meets your needs, and prices are reasonable.

Why do I use 230 gr. for my .45acp?
    Because I can't find a source of 250 gr!

    Glock 36

Nobody has mentioned the Glock 36, which is a 6+1 round .45 that weighs 20 ounces empty. The poster's Sig P245 weighs 30 ounces empty and is wider and longer than the G36:

Huh??? The KT P3AT comes in .380ACP, NOT .45

Man, I'd hate to fire a .45 round through that, OUCH!!!

I doubt Frank was saying that they make a 3AT in 45.... if they did, I doubt they would have named it the 3AT. He posted two sentances indicating two seperate thoughts.

But, FrankMako is right, small and light 45's are tough to come by. I think the best thing is the G36 or the Kahr.
