    Smile Full-Size 1911 as CCW

After recently acquiring my first 1911 I am impressed with how concealable this thing is. I really like my Glocks, but I see my G22 getting much less hip time now that I have the 1911. I am over six foot, so the 5-inch barrel doesn't bother me too much, but the slim frame just fits so perfectly.

And to think I avoided getting a 1911 for all these years!!!

Before this gets locked, I will chime in and say that I too love my 1911. Welcome to the club!

I carry a 4" 1911 all summer. Just doesn't seem to be any other pistol that fits me so well.

I'm 5'8" or 5'9", depending which convenience store I am at, and I carry a Springer fullsize 1911. Love it! Used to carry a SIG P229. I miss the SIG, but the 1911 does a better job concealing.

Remember that next time you see an internet commando saying that full-size guns are just too difficult to conceal. The 1911 works, and works well, for concealment.
I'll take a .45 and a large side of JHPs, please.

I carried one for years. No probs with keeping it concealed. I just think they are too heavy for real comfort.

AZHusker convinced me to carry my 1911, although I don't have a wife-beater or Cuban print shirts!

About time you found out. 5 inch steel 1911 with a good holster and belt has worked for me for a long time. Only time I notice the weight is if I change belts to a crappy one. (don't have a stiff black belt yet)

I'm carrying one at the moment. You made a good choice.
