Does anyone know of a good pistolsmith that can work on a Detective Special?

Colt themselfs .. Parts are hard to come by.. but if you can wait a week or so ill get the name of another place from the gunshop where they just sent one out to be retimed

Sam Damewood in Alamagordo, NM is good and I'd trust him with the so-called "finicky" Colt double action lockwork. He's just a small shop but he's very knowledgable and has experience with the Colt. Telephone Number is 505 491 1889. Address is 55 Wildcat Lane Alamagordo, NM 88310.

Another gunsmith whose work with Colt revolvers I would trust is Frank Smith.

Stay away from hacks but also don't allow someone to charge big money for Colt revolver work. Colt double actions are definitely different but it isn't voodoo to adjust them to work properly. There's alot of misinformation out there regarding them.
