Of your choices I like the Big Dots, but I prefer plain old black blades like on my 442.

Personally I prefer vertical alignment sights, like straight eights.

"All Purpose" encompasses a lot of territory friend.
What I would select you don't have listed, but it's "Old School". I'd go with a nice Patridge Front Sight.

Train and train hard, you might not get a second chance to make a first impression!

Sir, First let me thank-you for your post!
Could you please educate me as to what a patridge front sight is and what brand patridge front sight would you recommend
Again thank-you! Jarhead

A Patridge (not "Partridge, like the bird in a pear tree) sight is simply a plain vertical front sight blade, named for its inventor, Eugene E. Patridge.
This S&W Model 14 has a Patridge front sight:
When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

Jarhead, my Dad wasn't a Sir, and niether am I. We both worked for a living. Dad made Okinawa and Pelilieu in WWII, if you know your Corps history.
Captain Crunch gave a better example and explaination than I ever could. Thank you Captain, Sir.
The reason I selected that sight was because you said to select the "Best All Around" which in my mind encompasses target shooting, plinking, home defense, self defense and a variety of other uses. They also take an edge well so they work good in a weapon retention function, if you spend a little time with a file and a stone.

Out of respect for my fellow man that until the day I Die I will address every man as Sir! What this world needs is a little more respect for each other and that friend is what I (former U.S. Marine) fought for -FREEDOM as in speech, etc.! If respect bothers you live in a country where there is no respect!

Whoa Cat!
Pull your horses in as I meant no disrespect in my post and was trying to tell you that you could be a little more informal with me. My post was meant as one friend to another that haven't met yet, as I consider most people in this and other forums.
Sorry you took it the way you did Sir. I too mean no disrespect.

To toss a little more in the mix: the XS Standard Dot. XS touts its Big Dot because it is distinctive and sells well. You can certainly be reasonably accurate with the Biggie, but more so with the Standard.
Unfortunately, I've seen a couple of changes with XS that lead me to believe they are getting away from the original concept of "what works" over "what sells."
