Replacing DW PM7 rear & front sight for carry
I love my PM7 in 10mm. The adj sights are great for target shooting and make it an accurate weapon. I carry this 1911 on a daily basis so I need carry sights ,and Im trying to find out if anyone has done this already. I would love NOVAK carry sights but I cant seem to find the size of the dovetail for ordering purposes. Anybody been through this already ? Thanks for your help.

I may be answering my own question....but is the size Im reffering to called the "BoMar cut" as in the BoMar adj. rear sights I have installed on my weapon ? I noticed this reference while looking at assorted rear sights for 1911's . If anyone has installed carry sights of any style on their Pointman 7 pistol, I would appreciate a post to this thread. Thanks so much .

Yes a Bo mar cut is what you have .. you will pretty much have to go with a adjustable sight so it will fit and look right

Fusion firearms sells replacement slides. They are owned by Bob Serva who was the former President of DW before the sale to CZ. They would probably be able to fit a replacement slide with Novak cuts, and you would have the best of both worlds. I have the same gun in .45 and love it.
Why do I carry a Gun? Because I can't carry a Cop

Contact MMC. They make the same kind of cut to install the adjustable sights.
Pt and MMC Sights Night Sights
I had a couple CZs with the MMC sight and just loved them.
Nowdays., my Cz75's bar/dot tritium gives off a dull glow.
Time to send the slide back into them I guess.
They do excellent work.

Are you saying you already had this work(new carry sights to replace the adj sights)done to your 1911 DW ? This man is capable to fit this new slide to my frame with the same perfect fit as the factory ? I would hate to lose accuracy in the process. It certianly is an interesting idea...I could concievably go with a blue slide for an totally new look. Any idea on the ballpark cost of an operation like this....new slide with NOVAK carry sights fitted to my frame.....would I keep my old slide...sell or trade it in ????
I sure have a lot of questions....thanks for your time and consideration.

Don't replace your slide just yet!
1911 smith, John Harrison of Harrison Custom makes a replacement "hard duty" fixed sight for the Bo-mar cut. Here is a link to the LTW website, where he has pics and info:

Little bit cheaper option that buying a new slide. Don't get me wrong, one can always use a new slide, but at $85, a new sight is a heck of a lot cheaper.
Hope this helps.
