    HK P7M8 Help

I'm really interested in getting myself a HK P7M8 (I'm official addicted!) however, I need help with pricing and date codes. First, are there any date codes that are "better" for a P7M8? Does the warning on the slide really matter or is it just an aesthetic issue like I suspect? I found this deal on another forum and it looks good to me, I have seen them go for much more, I just wanna see what y'all think of it. Here it is:

"Pistol looks brand new with only around 50 rounds through it. (some non-relevant text ommited)

-AC date code (warning on slide) w/ two magazines
-approximately 50 rounds through it. Looks brand new
-box with cleaning tools, brush, spent casing, manual
-Kydex holster (i believe it's compac tac)

$1200 shipped my FFL to yours."

Except for the various markings all P7M8s are the same, parts from one fit another. The AC date means a 2002 production. Including shipping and a holster make this more palletable, but $1200 seems a little high. I've seen them lately in excellent shape for under (just) $1000. I'd make an offer and see what happens.

This is a gun you want in your collection. It's more fun to shoot if it's not too pricey.

Thanks for the advice Ripley...I do have problems finding ads for P7's in general, are there any places/forums you recommend me to look at for these?

Just about everything you would ever want to know about the various versions of the P7 can be found here:

Park Cities Tactical: The Cult of the P7

    Including many for sale.

They are aka Cult of the P7.

Thats not a bad deal. A fair deal. PSP's are quite a bit less. Diffrent mag release in a nut shell. But if I was looking to add to my armory and had the funds, I would go for the M8. I really like my P7M8, so I am a little bias. They will only get more pricey in the future. I paid 500+ for mine about 7 years ago. FWIW.

The P7's in various models, conditions and prices show up on Gunbroker all the time, keep an eye out there and sooner or later you'll find a good deal.

You could also check GunsAmerica, Im sure they show up there as well.

Chantilly marked guns are earlier, and considered "upper tier."

Different magazine as well. PSP and M8 magazines are not interchangable. $1200 is high unless the pistol comes with 6-8 magazines.

Seems like a good price for a M8.
Supposedly one just sold on HKpro for $800+, but that's an anomaly.
