    Glock 30 recoil?????

Ok, so i am looking for my new EDC. I am looking at the XD subcompact, the Sig 239, and the Glock 30. I have fired the XD, but I am unable to fire the Sig and the Glock 30. The Sig, I can imagine it fires like any other Sig, superbly. My concern is the Glock 30. It's a compact 45. Has anyone fired this particular Glock? Due to its size, I am a little concerned that the recoil would be a bit much. I don't mind a bit of extra recoil, but I would like to be able to fire a few boxes of ammo at a time with it and be able to feel my hand when I am done. Is the recoil on the Glock that bad? I am currently carrying an MK40 and that can be a bit of a snappy pistol, and I have fired 45s before, but like I said a compact 45 concerns me. Unfortunately there is no way to rent a 30 around here and noone I know has one. Anyone help with my selection would be hugely appreciated.

I haven't fired the 30, but own a 29 (10mm) and the recoil isn't too bad on that. I've fired a hundred rounds at the range out of that no problem.

If you're going to be firing HOT loads, I don't know about that, but shooting range/target ammo you should be fine.

Surprisingly mild for me! I can't recommend the Glock 30 enough.

I own an XD 45 and I shot a Glock 30 a couple times before making my decision. I only chose the XD because I like the extra safety and tactile loaded chamber/striker indicators. I don't specifically recall noticing recoil on the Glock... so it must not have been that bad.

The G30 is known to be a very mild shooter. You should have no problem with the recoil.

I have both, I carry the XD due to the point and shoot thing. The grip angle is just better for me. As far as recoil goes it would be hard to tell the difference. The 30 may seem to "snap" a little more if you have large hands.

I've got smaller hands so I can grip the whole thing. The XD has a longer trigger reset, if you're used to Glocks you'll have to put in some trigger time to get used to it.

Excellent, thanks for the help all. I personally have never fired a glock, but have heard they are decent shooters. I liked the xd, I know I will like the Sig, the only unknown was the Glock. Thanks again for your help, now it is just a matter of picking which one.

I suggest you fire a Glock before you purchase one. If you can rent a Glock .45 such as a G21 or G36 go for it. Glocks are superb firearms but you gotta make sure that the grip angle works for you, that's the one reason I don't own a Glock.

The G30 is a swell shooter. I'd recommend it. It's a wee bit top heavy and that actually has a good effect. The G21 and G30 just didn't do well for me in the fit department as the rest of my Glocks. The ten round capacity is nice also. Sold the G21 a couple years ago, and recently traded my G30 for a full size P220 and went down a few rounds in capacity. To me, it was in my best interest to do so. Now with the G30sf coming out---might be a new opportunity for me sometime in the near future. Never tried the G36 myself. I'd have to hold one to know.

I have a G30 and it is easier to control than my XDsc.40 or Kahr P9. Other than for me being too thick I love it.

I have a G30 and find the recoil to be very manageable. I would highly recommend this gun.
