    Where did I go wrong?

My son just turned 18. He approached me tonight about going to the gun show in April so he can pick up his first hand gun. I asked him what he was thinking of getting. He has really researched it and said he wanted a Kimber Compact.

Where, oh where, did I go wrong?

Seriously. It is a very pretty gun. Reminds me of my Colt Lightweight Combat Commander. I am sure he will let me shoot it. Ya. Ya, I am pretty sure. I will just let him clean it.

Well it could be worse it could be a Glock that looks like this:

Wow, the young man has good taste!

    18 to purchase/own a handgun out there? Doesn't fed law require 21?

Fed laws states 21 to purchase a handgun from a dealer. However it can be a gift or purchased from a individual at 18 yrs. old.
the Kimber compact is a nice little 1911 platform gun for carry and shooting.

It's really wierd when the Glock/SIG/H&K/M&P/XD thing equals "your father's Oldsmobile" and the younger generation goes for something else.

You definitely raised that boy right! Congrats and go get that firearm for him.

Clearly, if your son wants a 1911 for his first handgun, you surely didn't go wrong in teaching him taste!

That's a great looking handgun and I have heard good reports about it!

I am getting away from an all stainless 1911 myself... too darn heavy to carry! S&W 1911's are my new favorite... scandium baby!

    uh....that's not a glock. Looks like a 1911.

But I'd expect that kind of mistake from CNN (Clinton News Network).
