I'll have to look but I think the hood of the barrel is the same for a .40 as for a .45, about 0.415" wide. This is the portion of the slide that butts up to the breach face, assuming your barrel is not a ramped barrel. I know the 9mm and 38 super are narrower. I do not know of a dedicated slide for these calibers. I know that each installation requires tweaking the recoil spring.
Contact Bob Serva of Fusion Firearms and go with what he says as Bob knows 1911s. A word of caution is I have been playing with a Colt 9mm conversion for five months, it has had reliability issues. This Colt is on vacation with Ten Ring Precision/Alex Hamilton right now. Regards, Richard:embarassed:
#2 ~ Be able to be tensioned/secured in the breech face cut by the extractor during extraction and for ejection.
So methinks you need to buy a .40/10 slide. Go to Fusion Firearms.
Fusion Firearms ~~~~>Slides
There are 3 pages of slides. Great quality. :yup:
