Just finished another HP. New finish

This HP has all of the usual full house custom features except the finish. It is a custom brushed blue by Glenrock Bluing. Phil is an outstanding individual that still does it the old school way. The finish on this gun is done by polishing the metal after the media blast to get the surface prepped. Then it is "polished" again with a very fine 3000 grit wheel. This gives the metal a very "warm" and gently rounded appearance. It looks like a very well polished black oxide like Parkerizing but very very smooth and it is blued. It turns colors in the light just like a regular blue. And it is very different from a satin blue as the color is very deep and the metal very smooth. Anyway, please enjoy my crappy pics of this pistol. It was going to be a family HP, but my son decided to not keep it and go with another. This will be getting a new home as soon as someone speaks up for it, so I thought I had better get some pics of it while I still have it.

Nice High-Power but two things. What are those? Is the slide release that much better than the factory one and I like the look of your Hi-Power Stronghold Tactical Package better. Regards, Richard

    Hi-Power Stronghold Tactical Package:
What is "those"? The slide release is the C&S extended release and the safety is the C&S tactical. The trigger is the C&S Combat trigger. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for the kind words. I like most of the HPs that I build and the Stronghold has less "features" than this one.

I just wish this one could stay home
It is a bit more "business" this time. That is why this one is all black. I am a believer in all fighting guns should be black if possible. He is going with a 1911 project based on the Caspian Xtreme Recon frame and slide. It will be getting a Storm Lake barrel, the OD green alumagrips in 1/2 checker and Novaks or 10-8 sights. I have built several customs based on the XR frame and slide and really like how they turn out.
It is not often that I can complete a project without an owner and I am sure that this one will find a very good home.
I again thank you all for the kind words and just really appreciate this forum. I can come here and have a good time without a lot of the overhead that some of the other forums seem to conjur up.

Just so folks will know, the HP has found a good home thanks to this fine forum. It will be going to the new owner as soon as I complete the range test this week or next. I will post the results here, or may just wait until the new owner can get to the range with it. Again, thanks for the support,
