they used ball ammo. like to see how it shoots with jhp. my p3at shoots the same with ball and/or jhp, just like the ruger did with ball ammo. so right now i just don't see a good reason in getting one. but i hope some out there sale their p3at's to buy it. maybe i can pickup some p3at's for a song and a dance.

With no slide stop, I bet a lot of people will be riding the slide when chambering a round. It will be interesting to hear reports when these guns start getting out and people are shooting hollow points through them. Looks nice!

There IS a slide stop on the Ruger. That's one of the improvements.

It says it has one, but it didn't seeming to be working on that video. The slide stop that is.

It's a simple manual hold open, hardly a real improvement.

    Should have said "slide lock".

I'm more excited that Ruger seems to be finally taking some steps in the right direction, however, I'm not thrilled about the shameless design copy.

I would rather Ruger offer Hi-Cap mags for all of there Mini-14's and Mini-30's

That would be more exicting than the latest version of a .380 pocket pistol.

Now thats crazy talk... why would a company support a product that once was a top seller, and could be again?

With that said, it makes me wonder about the market... I would think if it was going to be profitable, there would be a aftermarket company that would make a decent Mini14/30 mags. The ones that do are mostly garbage.

So what is the advantage of a LCP over a P3at?

Have you noticed you can now buy a Mini-14 with a 16" barrel and 2 20 round mags? Also a Mini in 6.8 SPC. You should really look in to these things.

RELIABILITY! A single stack .380 that will run. Ruger has never made the prettiest semi autos, but they WORK. I've never known anyone personally that had a P3AT that ran worth a darn.

Well I don't know you personally, but when I did my reliability run of 200 rounds with my P3AT I had only two FTE's and have complete confidence in this pistol. I shoot it fairly regularly just to stay proficient and it runs great. I probably have close to 1000 rounds through it, so two out of a 1000 ain't bad in my book.

I do think this little Ruger is going to cause some serious problems around Coco Beach, as it really looks like a nice piece.
