Who has a S&W19 with a 2.5" barrel?
Did a search in here and only found a couple threads related to holsters for them.
Was checking out a nice used one today at a gun shop.
Any comments, advice or price references?

Have a model 66 (stainless version) with a 3" barrel. Great revolvers! Probably one of the best revolvers S&W made IMO. They make an outstanding CCW and are sweet shooters. Going rate for one in good shape is 400.00 - 500.00+. Everyone out there makes a holster for this gun. Prices on these are steadily rising so if you take good care of it you will not lose any money on it down the road.

I have owned a 19-3 since the 70s. Last year in preperation for my ccw class, I had a friend do a trigger job on it. Its a great shooting gun with plenty of punch if necessary. All you need is to practice a lot with it and to clean it well after praactice. You will be able to depend on it for years to come.
I want one. They seem to be a perfect carry revolver.

I just picked up a 2.5" Model 19-5 and took her out yesterday. I haven't shot a revolver in years. This big/little gun amazed me! Hit every coke can at 15 yards in double action. Consistantly rang the gong at 50 yards using single action. Almost as good as the 1911's I've been shooting for 30 years. Too bad it's so bulky for carry.
Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse.
The one I checked out looked like it was in good condition, with no major visual damage. The place was packed so I didn't get to look at it as good as if I were to buy it.
I keep thinking about it though, may have to go back up next week and see if they still got it.
What should I look at closely and also what should it run ($)?
Thanks for all the input so far. I know I can always count on this place for sound advice.
The blued steel S&W 19 with 2.5 inch barrel is really a classic snubnose .357, as is the almost identical S&W 66 made of stainless steel. You don't see them coming onto the market often, even though there were many of them made by S&W. I suspect that the owners tend to hang onto them because they work so well.
If I came across a decent model 19 snubby I would tend to buy it on the spot, and would expect to pay about $450 for it. I have a stainless 66 that I bought used 3 years ago for $300, and was fortunate to find it. I have sometimes carried it OWB and it conceals very easily because of the short curved grip and narrow barrel.

We are using the Kramer MSP and their Women's Paddle Holster for our 19s with 2.5" bbls. The guys actually prefer the Women's Paddle Holster, as it seems to ride just a bit tighter and seems to be a touch more "user friendly." I think both are outstanding choices for an OWB rig for the classic Model 19.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
I'm more interested in feed back on the gun...not the holsters.
So far sounds like it is a proven classic.
Never bought an older revolver before so I better do research on what to look for.

I know, my wording is unclear/tricky. I do appriciate all the help though. If I do end up with it I will be in the market for holsters so it is all good.
Thanks.

Thanks for the info on the price values Captain Crunch.
Does the catalog change the price/value based on barrel size at all? Also, are there descriptions on what makes the difference between good and very good?
It is kind of you to share such info. I’m not desperately (ie, must have) shopping…just happen to run across something of interest.
