New carry piece..

So I've been looking around for a new 1911 carry piece. I wanted commander sized 1911, don't like officer sized frames but wanted a shorter barrel.

Quite a few were in the running and I was going to decided in the next week or two until I wanted into a local fun shop today. Sitting there staring at me was just what I wanted. Left side only saftey, dark finish commander w/4inch barrel.

Generic box that has already found a place among others in the garage.


Lets open it up before throwing it in the garage.
Oh, hello Kimber Carry Pro II.


Brought it home, took it apart, cleaned and put it back together then went and shot about 120 rnds, these are "after" pics.

So far loving it. Shot tight groups at 10-15yrds. Hate the rubber grips but I knew I would before the first round. Ordering some new ones tonight. I've also ordered the Wolf xp springs for 4inch Kimbers and will be upgrading some internals over time. By the end of this upcoming weekend I'll have 600-700 rounds through it and will follow up then with more of a range report.

I've got wood grips on my full size Kimber and Springer Loaded and like them. I think I'll order up some wood and a set of composite ones and see which I like better for this gun.
