Mini-14 and 686P. First stop would be a gun store for a shot gun, 870, and then a convenience store for a carton of Camels and a fifth of wild turkey

A full size 1911 and a Saiga .308 for rifle. It's an AK chambered in .308 and can shoot 7.62 NATO as well so ammo shouldn't be a problem at all.

    Easy

Browning Hi-Power in 9mm for the pistol.

Longun would be my Savage 30-06.

Don't have a battle rifle yet but that's probably the next purchase.

My old Colt 1911 (MarkIV Series 70) for the handgun and for the rifle...I think I found me a new toy...Crossfire MK-1
It's a 12gx223 over under. The 12g is pump and the 223 under accepts standard ar15 mags.

My M14/M1A and my Ruger MkII Standard. They both would be capable of defense as well as foraging duties, and ammunition is readily available.

Beretta M9 and a scoped Ruger 10/22 with hi-cap mags.

    For parts and ammo avaibility.

With .22lr I can carry a couple of thousand rounds with me, put out a high volume of accurate suppressive fire and even take a deer with a well place shot (maybe, but defiantly eat plenty of rabbits and squirrels).

The M9 would be for larger 2 legged predators I could not escape and evade from. Plus there are a lot of M9's out there so parts should be easy to find.

A Ruger Six Series snub .357 revolver in stainless - still cheaper to buy than a comparable SW K frame, durable enough that you can probably use it for a hammer, and a revolver would still work with ratty reloads or even black powder cartridges. It's also concealable, and that is likely to be handy at times.

Long gun - Remington Model Seven (if one can afford it) in .308 or (if poor) a Combloc Model 44 would do in a pinch. (Esp since it is going in a hole in the ground.) Compact, decent power and low profile.

The situation will NEVER BE THE WAY YOU WANT, it WILL BE THE WAY IT IS. You must be FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO ADAPT and just "DEAL WITH IT".
