A Baby Wilson Needed a New Home

I heard about a lonely Wilson CQB Compact sitting in a local shop this week so of course I felt sorry for it. I just knew it wanted to go to a home with a big brother to look after it.

To make a long story short, I traded my Micro-Compact Springfield operator in on it, because I have been looking for a 4" model with an Officer's grip. I need to change out the grips (once I make up my mind) for some low profile carry style, and I am seriously thinking about sending it back to Wilson for a rounded butt, or bobtail conversion.

Took it to the range yesterday and it ran like a champ. Below is a picture with big brother and the obligatory KL Null and Milt Sparks leather porn

    Nice! Very nice!

Since you already had one Wilson you knew what you were getting. I'd like to pick up a full size one to complement my 4" Tactical Supergrade Compact. It'll happen, someday.....

Are you sure that a bobtail conversion can be done on an Officer's frame gun? I have only seen government frame guns with a bobtail.

Only 5 posts on DC and out comes the trump card. Very nice.

I know a rounded grip treatment can be done, but I will have to research the feasibility of doing a bobtail on an officer's frame. I'm sure a call to Wilson will set me straight.

Don't know about it being a trump card or not... There are plenty of guys and gals on here and other boards with nicer examples than these. I have now owned and traded 12 1911's. With each purchase I have learned some things the hard way. So this purchase was an example of finally (hopefully) knowing exactly what I wanted to carry...

I don't have one (a Wilson or a 1911 at that) so it trumps mine.

Looks like it could do with some more breaking in, why don't you send it to me so I can put a couple thousand rounds through it. You know, just to function check it and make sure it is safe for you to shoot. I only make this offer because I'm thinking of your safety!!

    Steel or alloy?

I want one so badly that I can't stand it. That is, without a doubt the next handgun I'm going to buy! Well done!
