I have had my Kimber Tactical Pro II for about a year and a half. I am pondering a new set of grips. I am looking at VZ Grips to replace the stock wood grips on the gun. I have never done this before so do I need to get new grip screws/bushings or can I just use the same ones that are on the gun now?
Right on...unless the screw heads are starting to show any wear at all. Then you might as well replace them, keep the old ones as spares.
FWIW, check out Larry Davidson's Monkey Grips monkeygrips . I just put some Horned Lizard grips on my 1911 and LOVE them. I think that G-10 is an outstanding grip material.
The keys to winning a gunfight are first to bring a gun and secondly to take your time, quickly.
Always remember that if your opponent is within range, so are you.
