While I don't own one, my uncle has one that is very similier. It shoots great and we both really enjoy it. Pretty dead on out of the box to.
God Bless America!!
Great looking gun, good price, I have sold a few to sheriff's deputies out here and they love them.
To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.

Have heard very little negative grousing from anyone who's bought & shot any of the S&W 1911 line-up. I would personally like to Bobtail a S&W Scandium Commander & give it a full (Clark style) meltdown. But that's just me...
As for the one featured above, the price & features look like a good value. If anything specific doesn't suit you, it'll still be a perfectly fine platform on which to add parts from Briley, Bar-sto, Wilson, etc. to make it PERFECTLY yours. Buy it!
There are only TWO kinds of people in this world; those that describe the world as filled with two kinds of people...and those who don't.
My dad swears by his 1911PD..similar gun. He's had no issues w/it. Nice shooting gun, i was envious shooting it..
Awesome thanks for the positive feedbacks !!
I now have two S&W 1911's and looking for a third. Smith has done real good this time. Mine are wonderful to carry and they shoot like they ought to.
I personally have no use for the rail but if someone gave me that gun I'd keep it, carry it and shoot it!![]()
ALWAYS carry! - NEVER tell!

judgement to keep himself out of situations that would require a display of his
superior skills."
I'd say go for it! Thats a nice price too.

S&W? I guess I've never had one, nor wanted to for any reason. Maybe I'm old fashioned now? Anyone here remember the Clinton era, and where S&W sold out to be politically correct? Anyone remember the boycott of S&W? Maybe not. Too young? Not up-to-par with the issues back then? That's okay. There are some things we should never forget, and 9-11, and our troops are some of them.
I guess I'll never go to LA or AR as it was once land of the French, nevermind that it was bought back and made American once again.

nitroglock, I don't own one, but I love the feel of the SW 1911 Rail Series. If I were looking at buying a railed 1911, these would definitely be at or very near the top of the list.
Ram Rod, I also boycotted S&W until they were bought back from the foreign owners by Bob Scott and a business partner like three years after the pact with the Clinton administration. I think he's done a heck of a job since then turning the company back around, especially with moves like the intro of the M&P series and the decision to make a S&W labeled 1911 and AR-15.

Where self preservation is concerned, if you're not cheating, your not trying...
Well I am going ahead and getting the non railed version, I have enough Glocks with rails, and to top it off still get the $100 rebate.
Now just have to wait on my county to issue an amendment, and they take their sweet ole time![]()

I have that exact gun. It has been really great for me. I even bought it from Bud's. Two things to be aware of, mine came with beautiful wooden grips, not the black ones that are pictured now and were pictured when I bought it. Secondly, finding a holster can be a little difficult with the rail. I had a custom maker craft me one.
