Question How to Disassemble Scherer 2PLUS2 Extensions??

I have these extensions on my G19 mags and want to remove them, without messing up the mags. I plan to replace the extensions with the standard flush floor plates, and also replace the springs.

The 2PLUS2's are what the prior owner had on the mags, not my choice.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious? They seem to be "locked" in-place.

Does anyone know how to proprerly remove the Scherer 2PLUS2 mag extension? I thought I'd ask around first, before I break out the Dremel cutter, and risk wrecking my pre-ban 15 rndrs, which are scarce around here.

    Thanks!
(yes, I Googled this, and could only find Dealers selling the Scherer)

Have you tried using a punch? Glock makes one. TR Graham (Glock armorer who used to work for Glock, the only person that I'll let work on my carry gun) showed me at a gun show recently. I had a magazine that was stuck. He got it without even trying. He used a T bar punch, seemed to work much better than a standard punch. I think he made it. You are able to get some leverage that way.

Here's a couple of people that sell them.

Do those have a hole in the bottom with the point of the bottom plate protruding? If they do---you'll need to push that part up inside of the mag first (the tip of a pencil or ball point pen might be enough), then squeeze the sides of the mag hard down at the bottom, then slide the base pad slightly forward. Once that's forward slightly and out of the side notches on the mag bottom, you'll need to squeeze even harder on the mag bottom and pull straight down, or use a slim flat blade screwdriver in from the rear slot and lift the spring with the base insert again and push the base pad forward. They can be a booger. I use the Glock tool myself.

Thanks for those suggestions guys. These are not standard mag plates with the hole in the bottom. I've taken dozens of those types apart easily.
This Scherer extension has no hole, and no obvious way of removal without cutting them off, so that's what prompted my question. So far, here and on Glock Talk, nobody else out there on the forums has ever used these. Again, not my choice, the mags had them on from a prior owner.
I'll spend a bit more time examining ways of doing this.
I do a bit of gunsmithing, so I have quite a few tools...

Okay---yes--I have one of those also. It's on a NDF (non drop-free) G17 mag. I just took mine off, press in on both sides at the bottom of the mag, push toward the front, then pull straight down. There is no bottom plate inside these. This mag was a previous LEO's, as his initials and badge number are scratched in the side of the mag. I realize this might be easier on the NDF mag than on the FML (full metal lined) ones.

    Thanks RamRod,
    Update,
I was able to use the corner of the mag against a hard surface trick.
    (while squeezing the sides)
    These are all coming off!

All of my G19 mags are pre-ban non-drop-free NFML (the U shaped type).

Ahhh, grasshopper, you have learned why some refer to Scherers as exten-Turds. They have developed the reputation of spontaneously removing themselves when a mag is dropped on a hard surface, and bending the bottom of springs when one is trying intentionally to remove them...
