S&W 37-2 pricing
Hello all, I am looking at a NIB 37-2 at a local pawn shop. These snubbies seem to have a bit of a unique story (from what little I can find) but I am trying to decide of $390 is too high. I am a bit of a sucker for toys with any kind of oddness. Opinions appreciated. Thanks.

With the recent resurgence of S&W snubby popularity, I'm seeing almost everything going for $400+.

From what I've seen after doing a google search on the gun $390 looks like a fair price.

A little high for used I would think you can buy new at that price. Its not a great deal, but its not a total rip off... so I guess one would call that fair.
I just noticed you said NIB... its a fair price.

The S&W model 37 (blue finish- alloy frame -no integral lock) was discontinued
years ago.

If this is what you are looking at , and it is LNIB for $390 - BUY IT

I got a SW 442 NIB at a local gun show for $358. I put on CT 405 laser grips on it (additional $$). They sell locally at Academy Sports for $429. If you can't find a good deal locally, you might want to check here.

Not entirely true. S&W released a quantity of M37-2 revolvers with bobbed hammers and no internal lock to the market in 2005. These guns were an overrun from a large production run for the Japanese police in 2002.
The M37-2 was officially dropped from the S&W lineup in 2006.
If this is the revolver that the OP is referring to, it is indeed a good deal.
Several members of the forum are lucky owners of this gun. Sure wish I was one of them!

Disregard my first post in this thread... I was thinking of the 637, not the 37.

Thanks for the input guys. It is the gun that Captain C mentioned (bobbed hammer, no lock). I am trying to get them to deal but I dont think they are gonna see it my way, but I probably shouldnt let it slip away even though it comes at a less than perfect time financially ( isnt that usually the case)? Anyway thanks again.

Lots of people are looking for pre lock J frames. That makes it a sellers market for them.
