The grips for the 642 were made in a special edition release by a company called TALO inc in a deal with S&W. TALO Distributors Inc. - special limited edition firearms for sale to stocking firearms dealers across the USA.. Part # 150551.

    Thanks Titleist !
Kenny, If you go on that website you can see the same gun I bought, with those grips on the bottom of the web page.

I would use the contact tab and talk to those guys if possible to see if you can get the grips a-la-carte. :-))

    I have S&W J-frame model 940 (9mm)
As far as Snubs being EZ carry, it the hammerless models I prefer.

For more stopping power, I prefer my ParaCarry (C6-45LDA)
Its 8oz heavier than the S&W, but height & length are almost identical. PLUS it s .45!!

Fwellers those grips are only made for those guns! They dont make extras!

I got an email back saying nope, only for the guns they come on!

Looks ill have to get lucky and find some or something else!

Man that's a bite in the rump !

If you look down to the middle of this page, the excalibur with oversize finger groove, looks the closest I've seen, shape wise to those grips. Except for the lack of checks, they look close.

    My Wife's Ruger

Finally getting around to posting pics of my wife's SP101.

I cannot say enough about this little jewel. Has creamy smooth trigger and very good accuracy for being a DA only snubbie. Looks awesome too! If it where mine, I'd put on some small rosewood boot grips and call it good, but she likes the laser.

Here is my well used 642. I CCed it for 3 years in the AZ heat. My sweat corroded the Alloy really bad so I decided to get it refinished. At the same time I had the cylinder chamfered and a trigger job. Its a sweet shooter! I'm sure I might catch some crap about the ClipDraw but it works for me....

I might have posted these before.

My SP-101 DAO from last Summer, with my
    brother's new P345.

Very fun for blasting hot Magnum loads throught it, but
really couldn't shoot it worth beans.

As a person that has had Horrible luck with S&W revolvers over a 20 year span.
Especially those saddled with the ugly locks.

I love the SP series but still find them too
heavy for pocket or ankle carry.

    Happily..
I'm picking up my NIB LCR on Monday.
IMHO The trigger pull is light years ahead of
any Ruger or J frame, and Colt isn't going to
    producing anything.

Know that there is still a used 3 inch SP-101 is out there for me.
I'll be using it for a car or home gun.

I've got a set of wood grips (checkered) with the Taurus medallion inset, off of a M85 that my father owned 40 yrs. ago . These grips really sweeten the looks of my wife's Ultra-Lite, but she won't give up the feel of the Hogue Monogrips.
