    Thanks. The grips are sweet and feel great in my hand. Actually they conceal pretty well also. The dump pouch I've had since about 1984, way back when we still carried revolvers. I was on our department pistol team for a while and it really helped in loading two rounds at a time.

    Nice. I like the grips. I wish I could get new grips for the Security Six.

    I don't know if they are still available, but I had a really nice set of Herrett wood grips on my Security Six. Well made with finger grooves and checkering and fit well. I don't have a picture, since that gun was stolen years ago, but the model number was simply Herrett SMS ( made for Ruger Security Six, new style, square butt frame )
    Hope it helps and they're still around
    I just googled it, and it's still available. It looks like they are calling it " Custom shooting master " grips now. Rather pricey ,too. I paid 27.85 in the late 70s', Now it's 98.00 PLUS 25.00 for the finger grooves Plus 35.00 for the skip checkering, which was all standard way back when. So, if you're somewhat rich, check em' out

    Here is my first gun, a s&w 60. It looks like new but it is about 35 yrs old I think. I think it is very nice and I just couldn't be more happy with my choice. I just changed the grips for the pink grips to make it more me. Its a great gun, I love it.

    THANKS, tkruf.

    You guys did great with the vintage 60. It appears to be in pristine condition.

    The great thing about those grips iss the embarrasement it causes a bad guy when he tells the cops "she shot me with a pink gun"!

    My mother has a 22lr revolver with pink grips, (although not near as bright a pink) and that's what she says too.

    I do have a couple of questions, not being a Smith expert;

    Is the finish on the gun normal factory, or has that been hand polished or special finished in some way?

    and

    Is that a grip safety in the back of the grip?

    A truely beautiful gun!

    I believe that the finish is origonal. And yes, that is a safety in the backstrap.
    If I remember correctly, you won't be able to fire a round unless you press the safety all the way in.

    I love Smiths...but I'm "jonesing" for some customized SP101's,which is going to be the gun that restarts my wheelgun collection. I sold all my Smiths like a dummy!
