Attachment 24557I wanna play too, my Smith and Wesson 642 with Gator Grips from S&W. Gun came with the grips stock, they are no longer anywhere to be found on the website.
I had this on the holster section looking for leather suggestions and somebody said I should post it with the snubbies, so here 'tis: .38sp Colt Commando Special - Parkerized version of Detective Special - only made a couple of years during the strike. Someone has done a great job on bobbing the hammer and finishing it to match and it has the best DA trigger of any gun I've ever picked up - absolutely like silk! I chose this over the SP101 because of the trigger, the weight and the fact I probably wouldn't shoot .357's anyway - plus it's a 'six shooter'. Still looking for IWB, OWB, SOB holster suggestions.
Beautiful weapon. Those small framed Pachmeyer grips were copied from a DaVinci drawing - well at least in artistic spirit - in my dreams. :wink:
It's really a pity, and something we should be ashamed of, that we allowed (our Fathers are to blame) Colt to to suffocate in it's own "arrogance of triggership".
So now we get stuck with 1911 syndrome from Colt. Fine. It's a free country - apparently.... death by market or some such burial ritual;
Ruger or Sig or S&W, or Klock (Khar buys Glock) My Ass! If I'm going to make the newspapers I want it to be a Colt!
I agree, Doghandler - there's just something about a Colt! Mine came with the pre-Pachmeyer grips - kinda little and smooth. The ones in the pic came from the last gun show and don't have the Colt medallion. I may get a set of Eagle ebony Secret Service grips as soon as the budget allows.
Here is my Colt Lawman from 1976. It is not pretty but it shoots great!!
BGs are color blind and don't care about prettiness. They care about "bang!" and "hurt!".
