7 shot with crimson laser or 5 without?
Hello, think this is a new question, if not, sorry.
When I carry revolver it's between the taurus 617 7 shot .357 with exposed hammer or the 651 5 shot WITH crimson laser concealed hammer.
I understand most shooting happen in low light, close range...
the 617 offers 40% more capacity and I realize most civilian shootings are 1-3 shots.
Just looking for opinions. Thanks

Use the one that you will carry. If you can tuck the larger 617 away discretely, yet still have quick access, go with it. If not, find a place for the 651.

The one with the laser would be my first choice. Placeing accurate shots is more important in my book then the difference between 5 or 7 shots. Which one are you the most comfortable with?

I'd go with the one with CT grips.

both equally comfortable to shoot with. I wear smartcarry when using either. (no pocket carry with 21 oz guns) This might be the eternal question. But all options are open. Guess I could carry both

Which CT grips are on the 651, the 385's or the 185's?

Also remember, When you go to trial by jury you are putting yourself into the hands of 12 people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty.

thanks to all for help. I've decided to stay with the one with the crimson laser light. It's the newer one without a master on/off (that's on the wifes .38.
Again, it's a tool, not a crutch but I only carry my wheelie when i'm by myself and at work. It's just so darn easy. When with wife or family or in more crowded areas i've gone with my xd45.
Thanks again.

You have a better chance of needing the extra two shots than you do the laser. If you "need" the laser you can still do without; if you need two more shots, you really need two more shots.

I doubt the laser will even get used in a life threatening situation after having a CT on one of my 1911's. Nice toy though, my cat loves it!
Seriously, mine gets used very little and even then it's at the range. I'd go with the 7 shot.
